The Denon 3300 made in Korea is made by Inkel, which is the same company that makes Sherwood Newcastle AV receivers and preamp.

Denon supplies the design/components/parts to Inkel, and Inkel uses their manufacturing facility to assemble the product. So, quality-wise the product is probably the same as a unit manufactured in Japan. I don't think that a company like Denon would contract out their production to a fly-by-night company.
