Loudspeaker Hiss with Yamaha DSP-A2

At one time I did have a problem with the A1000 that turned out to be a faulty volume control. This was creating noise which the DSP and amp made worse. It was about $300 to replace the volume control and the problem has been gone ever since. I would suspect the DSP or volume control and get it in for service. One further thing to check is the input levels on the DSP. Run the DSP test setups and balance the audio with the loudest channel at 0. Sometimes adding gain to the surrounds to overcome the mains will introduce this noise. I have not seen this in the Yamaha pieces but I have in some of the other middle of the road components from Kenwood or Sony. Hope this helps. Rick
