I had this combination (well, in my case I bought the Yam 995) - I lasted 1 week with it: your dealer is correct and IMHO obviously watching out for your best interests. I kept the Paradigms (by theway: I would recommend buying 5 mini monitors and using one as a center - the cc-350 is not as impressive as the MM. Make sure you order a shielded MM if you go this route).

The Yam 995 was not a bad receiver, BTW, but it sure did not get along well with bright speakers. This would discount the monitor series and the BW 600 series. I suspect it would be a good match for the lower end Paradigm (Phantoms) or perhaps the BW series 300, which are more laid-bak in the top end.
