Ok, I'll try...

Well, I personally have the Onkyo 575 and I love it. Great receiver with lots of power - don't be fooled by consumer-grade stuff like Sony and Technics which throw everything except the kitchen sink into their products.

The Good -
- Dolby Digital and DTS decoding
- THX Cinema-EQ
- learning remote
- 3 digital inputs (2 coax, 1 optical)

The Bad - (for some)
- no S-video switching

For me, the lack of S-Video is not a concern since my TV only has composite inputs (ancient 21"). If you have multiple S-video sources, I would suggest the Onkyo 676 which will have S-video switching.

I don't know much about the Yamaha 995, but the more logical comparison would be the 795a. The Yamaha 795 that I was looking at was good as well, but for the money, I decided upon the Onkyo.

Good luck...

Cheers,
Bernie
