I find I usually have to "goose" the center level a notch or two (i.e. +1 or +2) with my Denon AVR-3200, even with Dolby Digital/AC-3 discs.

Therefore, you MIGHT want to use the receiver's "Test Tone" to equalize the center speaker "by ear" to the fronts.
