Seeking HT receiver to match Energy Take 5's

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 98; Knowledgenet 1999):

I'm putting together a modest home theatre set up. My system thus far consists of a Panasonic DVD-A110, a decent VCR (not S-VHS), and a S-Video TV. I'm ready to move things up a notch in terms of speakers and receiver, but I've got a lot to learn. I almost spent $2000 on the Bose Lifestyle 25. Good thing I got to this site before making the purchase.

Based upon what I've learned thus far, the Energy Take 5 w/ 10 inch sub are the frontrunners for my choice of speakers. I prefer the sub/sat combination and the price range fits.

I'm looking for suggestions on a good DD/dts receiver. I'm budgeting about $1000 for this. The Denon AVR 3300 and the Yamaha RX-V995 seem to get the most praise in this price range, but are they overkill for Take 5's?
