I recently struggled with a similar situation. I almost purchased a set of Bose speakers. Fortunately, I did some homework. I just purchased the Denon AVR-3300 and the Mirage AVS-500 speakers with the 10" sub.

What I found regarding speakers: For the money, Bose is not the best choice. BTW the difference between the AM-10 and the AM-15 is in the bass module: the AM-15 is a powered sub. For more on Bose, hear from the experts in the forum on speakers.

I suggest you review and listen to these speakers in the sub/sat class:
Energy Take 5 or Mirage AVS (very similar)
NHT SuperZero
Definitive Technology's Pro Cinema
