A separate(HK PA5800/PT2500/DD) VS. Denon AVR3200

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0b2; Windows 98):

I am considering setting up a separate system which consists of Harman Kardon PA5800 poweramp, PT2500 preamp, and a Dolby Digital decoder(Denon AVD2000 or Onkyo ED301).
I wonder how this setup would sound compared to receivers like Denon AVR3200, Marantz SR780, or more expensive ones.
If there is anyone who tried this set up or have any thoghts on this setup, please share your thoughs.
