need better quality..have 50es. Suggestions?

Using Mozilla/4.05 [en] (Win95; I):

I have a sony 50es reciever running a pair of m&k 125 sats, dennon cd and monster cable round out the package. My prob is that i dont seem to be getting the potential out of my speakers, I am getting lackluster performance in stereo and believe the reciever is at fault. any recommendations? i am looking for really clean tight sound(warm) not bright that will bring my m&k's to their potential.
