A reasonably good cheap DD/DTS preamp/processor is Technics SH-AC500D. It's approx $300. You will need separate amps. IMHO separates are the way to go because a good amp never goes obsolete so you can invest a lot in the amps and not worry about replacing them next year. AT $300 the Technics pre/pro is a throw-away component.
