Yamaha RX-V2095 as preamp/processor

Using Mozilla/4.5 [en] (Win95; I):

How good is the Yamaha in the preamp/processor portion compared to separates for playing stereo music if:

1. You are passing a digital signal in from a DVD player for CDs and rely on the internal DAC of the Yamaha to produce a quality analog signal.
2. You are passing the analog signal on to a good power amp.

Under this scenario, will the output signal to the power amp "hold its own" when using quality speakers and a quality amp?
