Pioneer VSX - 906RDS or VSX - D736S

Posted by Tommy Sun [IP: 194.128.83.228] on February 28, 1999 at 19:11:10
Using Mozilla/4.5 [en] (Win98; I):

I have the Pioneer VSX - 906 RDS or VSX - D736S, I'm quite happy with my receiver personally. However, some people said this receiver is no good. For example, lack of sockets or low power (Only 60 W per channel) or DSP chip on this receiver is poor.
Can anyone please give me the following information:

1. How to improve the sound and picture quality from my existing receiver (VSX - 906RDS)?? For example, Bi - amp or Bi - wiring ??

2. If Bi - amp, which power amplifier I should go for?? How about Marantz MA - 500?? Or Choose Pioneer Power Amplifier??

3.Is my receiver's DSP chip same as the top of range series Pioneer VSA - E06??

4.What are the bad points of my receiver?? (VSX - 906RDS) Please list out..

5. If I would like to trade in my receiver, which surround receiver is above average in the market? DENON AVC - 3800 or Yahama DSP - A2??

I shall appreciate your advice on these matters.
