In your price range I recommend either a used Krell KAV-500 5-Channel which can be had for around $2,500. Or a Aragon 8008x3 $2,500 list (can be had much cheaper if you shop well) and a 2-Channel for your surrounds.

If you want a new 5-Channel in this range the Sunfire and Parasound are the best bets. The above units are much better though.
