I have the Sherwood AVR-9080 Pre with a Harman Kardon PA-5800 and also agree that it is an excellent combination. The tuner section in this pre is excellent, the bass management is the best I have seen so far (individual bass management settings for each input). HT mag says that the test tones cannot be controlled from the remote - this is BS - they obviously did not read the instructions.
