If you are interested in building a home theater that will give you a movie theater experience then yes. A THX controller is the heart of a THX system. Add amps, speakers and other THX components to complete the system. Check the THX web site for more complete information. :Can I play the vcr movies on THX mode and get the full effects ? or do I have to get movies recorded on THX in order to take full advantage of it. THX processing works with all software ie:VHS, DVD, Laser Disk etc. The THX logo on software means it was The THX controller provides: Bass Management, Re-Equalization, Timber Matching and Decorrelation.
