Confused about Widescreen

If so, What is a layer change on DVD? Most DVD discs today contain a whole movie on one side of the disc. These discs are called "RSDL" ("Reverse Spiral Dual Layer") discs, because they actually have 2 layers of data on one side of the disc. The laser reads the first layer, and when it gets to the end of that layer refocuses onto the second layer and carries on. The layer change is that point and it is supposed to be unnoticeable, but some players are better at it than others and some discs are mastered better to hide it than others. It should obviously be mastered to occur at a natural scene break but some movies have them in the oddest places. You can tell an RDSL disc by the colour - they are usually goldish if you look at the playing surface.
