Blockbuster going DIVX?

: When you think about it, it would be lunacy for a video store or chain to carry DIVX as their business model is completely contrary to the video rental model. Circuit City tout one of the "benefits" if DIVX to be that you do not have to return the disc to a rental store, but rental stores rely on repeat business from renters doing exactly that, returning to the store.


And while they are not proud to admit it, Blockbuster and other video stores rely on late fees for added revenue. When I see many of my friends paying huge late fees (they don't seem to mind, even though they could probably buy the movies cheaper!), I am actually glad because they are in essence subsidizing my rentals and keeping the rates low.
