Nigel,I went to the dealer with my disks. He has the same system as mine, i.e. Yamaha 2095 receiver + S795 DVD Player. Exactly the same sound cut out at the same places. On The Jackal DVD, the sound cut out at 51:09, 1:14:40 and 1:59:01, the layer change occurs at 1:02:41 Hmm... Then he changed to the Sony S5300 DVD as player, same problem.
He said he will contact Yamaha. It seems that the problems come from the 2095, the second best receiver after the DSP-A1 from Yamaha. Then I went to another dealer and tried the Jackal disk on Sony 7700 DVD player hooked to a Pioneer receiver, guess what... NO PROBLEM AT ALL. Lot of people have the 2095, but I did'nt see anybody complain about that problem? What do you think ? a receiver that have excellent review. Am I right by concluding that the problem is the 2095?
