Well, well, well, it looks like Yamaha "Did a Micro$not": relased a product to market WITHOUT FULLY "DEBUGGING" IT! (smirk!)

Seriously: are those 3 disks THE ONLY ONES with the "cutout" problem? if so, then I really wouldn't worry about it. HOWEVER, I'd visit the Yamaha site and send a "pointed" E-mail to their Tech Support people about your fidings (including the discovery about the Pioneer receiver test). THEN, I'd locate the local Yamaha "Authorised Repaire Centre", call them up, tell them your problem AND your findings, then see if they have any "prior" information on this phenomenon and if they'll do anything about it.

At any rate, good "sleuthing" job! I hope you get an acceptable solution to the problem. :)
