DTS DVD

Don't be too hasty in laying the blame on Yamaha! It may be that at the time they wrote the firmware for this receiver they were working with the then current version of the DTS codec which worked fine with the rest of their code. From what I have heard DTS have been a little haphazard in how and when they have released new versions of the codec to manufacturers. That was the reason why my DC-1 was having problems with new Telarc DTS audio discs - they were encoded with a newer version of the codec than on my DC-1's chip - a chip upgrade from Lexicon fixed it.

Maybe Yamaha should have been more vigilant in encuring that they had the most up to date codec, but this is all speculation on my part.
