Thanks Nigel. What do video drop outs look like? The scene that seems the most "flared" is as Upham releases the captured soldiers, after he has shot Steamboat Willie. Broad bands of light go vertically up from the bottom of the screen, and the steeple behind Upham seems almost visible through him. Does your disc exhibit some problems at this point? The CAV counter is at 11780 when the problem is occurring.
