Progressive Scan DVD?

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 98):

Does anyone know if progressive scan DVD players are coming out and if they are, when? Will they be able to play the DVD-A format?

Very curious. Want to buy a DVD player today but may wait for new batch.
