MGM DVD mastering is very bad!!!

Using Mozilla/4.61 [en] (WinNT; I):

I have to warn everybody that MGM's DVD mastering tech is poor - very poor!

Recently I bought 2 of my favorite moives in DVD ("Four Weddings and A Funeral", "Unbearable Lightness of Being"), both mastered by MGM. Sadly I found the picture quality is so bad that I'd rather watch my VHS collection instead. The twinkling (random dotted bright white pixelation) is all over the picture, noticeable in almost every frame. What a shame!

Did anybody else experience the poor picture quality of MGM DVD? Or is it just my Panasonic DVD player (A120)that hates MGM mastered DVD?
