Interesting! my "Yellow Submarine" DVD, mastered by MGM/United Artists, is ABSOLUTELY PURE AND CLEAN in its' picture. AFAIK, that's the only MGM disc I have.

Methinks either: 1) your DISC IS DIRTY, 2) your DVD pickup is "dirty", 3) you got a couple of bum discs.

Does your A120 do this on EVERY disc or just those two? if "every" (or vast majority) of your discs have this problem, and your deck is still under warranty, take it in for a checkup. Take the "offending" discs for them to look at.
