Yeah, the problems the players were having was nothing like what I was seeing though. The only Documented Pioneer problems were a lip synch problem, that could be corrected by pausing, then replaying again. I don't have that problem with my DV-414, thank god. I do appreciate all your help with trying to diagnose this phenomenon. I knew about the many problems with other players. I guess if I had a more clearer understanding that this flickering on the logos was suppose to be artsy(not just the cool green color), and not a defect, most of my concern would had vanished. The flickering bullet scene( supposedly the camera aray's flashing) just added to the suspense of why this was happening in these different spots and totally different scene arrangements. The common knowledge of KNOWING this disc was about the worse with compatability of the many different DVD player makes gave more concern that their mastering and perhaps pressings, were degraded for some reason. I know, as you've stated, that WB claims no responsibility for the incompatability with the MANY different brand players. I think that they may had forgot some code that needs to be in the disc to perform correctly. It's just hard to believe that all these players are at fault, especially when only "SOME" players of a certain model are affected. As I said, my 414 plays fine(other than the NORMAL situation I explained previously). If other 414s don't, as that goes with other models and brands in this same scenario, it must be a disc fault. Some Matrix discs, not all. I know some will say firmware versions are to blame, but I have one of the earliest versions on my 414, and have had no problem with any discs, including the new Alien Resurrection that has CD-rom content. I find incompatability unexcusable with DVD and computers. The prices, while cheaper than laserdiscs, are still quite high. They have a standardized specification. Why can't they just follow it, or is that to strenuous and expensive for these companies. They are charging a good penny for their product, which includes the R&D. It seems they are trying to make specifications a form of a contract, where everyone wants to interpet it in their own INCORRECT words. Please excuse the rants, had to get it off my chest.
