Want to put fear into peoples minds as to DIVX? Dwell on the telephoneline connection aspect. Don't say the player calls in each time you watch; say it "reports" what you are viewing to the"proper agency". Marketing profiles will be determined by your viewing habbits.

Solicitors:

If you watch a lot of nature related material, the National Audibon Society will start calling asking for donations.

If you watch more than one Michael Jackson video on Divx; the National
Adopt-a-Chimpanze Org will send literature featuring "Bubbles the Chimp" and pre-adressed donation envelopes right to your mailbox. Also the Run-Away-Childerns Network will call frequently asking if you have seen so-and-so.

If you cater to movies about China or filmed in China, the DNC will call for a
donation.

If you view "Alien Autopsy" and "Sphere" within one week of each other, expect
to receive a free 10 minute phone card from the Psychic Hotline and numerous
mailings from the Franklin Mint hocking their new Star Trek Collectors Plates.

X Rated DIVX:
If reported that X-Rated material is being viewed at 2-3:00am; you wife will be called in the morning and told. Expect a rolling pin to the head as you walk in from a long days work.

If reported that daily X-Rated viewing is occurring; expect an unannounced -
long term visit from your mother-in-law whom was mysterously tipped off.

Misc.
If you view too many movies on the same subject and visit the dry cleaners alot,
expect a subpoena from Ken Star.

View any movie where citizens confront and conquer their opressive inept
government; expect to see black helicopters circling over your house for a few weeks.

If your DIVX player reports a lot of pausing as ringing on your phone line is
detected, expect calls from Ma Bell selling calling services like caller ID, voice mail, and call blocking.
