: I have seen multiple postings relative to Macrovsion degradation of the DVD image. Could someone explain to me what I would see on my system when this occurs? I frquently have alternating episodes of brghtening then darkening of the projected image from my Zenith PRO900 (occurring with either of my DVD players) on some, but not all, DVDs; there is no VCR in the pathway. Is this artifact caused by the Macrovision
: encryption process? Thanks

The symptoms you describe are those of Macrovsion copy protection, which depending on the way it is implemented can be a problem for some front projectors, without a VCR in the loop.
