This is the truly evil thing about Divx. They have negotiated exclusive releases that North American DVD owners cannot get while Region 2 DVD owners can. For example X-Files Fight the Future is released on DVD for Region 2 but because of Divx it is unavailable on DVD in North America. So what about us Canadians that don't have Circuit City but are still in Region 1?

: So far I have only read about how Divx affects the Americans - has anyone think of this - because of the greed of a certain US company, some of us that live outside of North America (I guess CC would cover Europe evantually, but what about the Far East? South America? Africa?) may never have a chance to watch programs that could have been available in DVD. When we are all talking about "global" (i.e. internet etc) I think this is a major set back. I am definitely anti-Divx - it does not provide a freedom of choice, it rip off my reedom of choice.
