DIVX is fine for me

Charles, if Divx is fine for you then . . . .
1. You must not have rentals available, since they are available in a lot of places for $2 or less, or less than 1/2 the cost of your Divx disk, or you are so rich you don't mind getting soaked for renting an inferior disk;

2. You must not care about watching movies the way they were filmed, chopped off Pan & Scan is OK and you aren't interested in all of the great extra material available on most open DVDs;

3. You must not share your movies with others, because if you do, your Divx disks are worthless, even if you pay retail +++ for the Silver conversion--they still will charge you to play on any other Divx machine;

4. You must be satisfied with a much smaller availability (200 titles versus over 2000), missing a lot of great movies from Warner, New Line and others who do not and will not support Divx, and you must live very near a Circuit City, since they are virtually the only ones carrying Divx;

5. You don't mind that a bunch of lawyers and a few greedy studios, namely Disney, Fox and Paramount are really trying to set up a system whereby you WON'T have the alternative of open DVD versus Divx. This is why they are attempting to push Divx by monopolizing popular titles!

Or maybe you just haven't done your homework, guy! Spend some time on the many web sites that have dissected and dissed Divx in detail.
