DTS DVD's and non-DTS Players

I have a receiver with DTS Decoder but do not have a player with DTS capability, but plan on buying one soon.

I have been told that DTS DVD's do have a Dolby Digital 2.0 track for standard surround...

If I by a DTS DVD now and play it on my Dolby Digital player, will it play with at least some sort of audio... or will it just not play at all?

I want to start buying DTS DVD's so that I can watch them in regular suround for now. And have DTS experience when I'm ready to upgrade to a DTS capable player?
