Rotted LDs...has anyone ever tried...

...getting a replacement direct from
manufacturer? I have two relatively
new THX,WS,DD titles which are now
complete with horrendous amounts of
multicolored speckles and line segments.
One, a Pioneer pressed, the other w/ 'LDTA' mint marks (I assume the dreaded
Sony plant).Both discs were as close to
perfect as can be expected for an LD,
when initially purch'd.Any suggestion?
