For those who are interested and haven't sen this yet, it's supposed to be out in March but I did not see a date listed. I wish they had announced it sooner. Oh well, I guess I can put my two copies of this one next to my original and Criterion versions of RoboCop. Armageddon available on DVD and laserdisc 2 DVDs $49.95/4-sided laserdisc $99.95 153 minutes Both versions include: €An exclusive widescreen transfer of the director's cut, personally supervised by Michael Bay. This version has added dialogue and footage, most notably a scene between Bruce Willis' character and his father €Two commentary tracks €Track 1 features Michael Bay, Jerry Bruckheimer, Bruce Willis, and Ben Affleck €Track 2 features cinematographer John Schwartzman, NASA consultant Joe Allen, and asteroid consultant Ivan Bekey €Michael Bay's gag reel - a reel made for the wrap party with great outtakes €Deleted scenes compilation - scenes not vital enough to make the director's cut, but still interesting to take a look at €Analyses of the special effects by the visual effects supervisors: €Richard Hoover - this piece deals with all the shuttle/asteroid sequences created at Dreamquest. It goes into detail about the look of the asteroid €Pat McClung, the effects supervisor for the rest of the movie, discusses the job of an effects supervisor and details different shots. €Hoyt Yeatman deals exclusively with the destruction of Paris shot. It goes into great detail on the various levels involved in creating one 11-second effect shot €Production designer Michael White discusses the look of Armageddon; features some cool behind the scenes shots and really beautiful production design drawings, storyboards and additional production design drawings €Trailers, teasers, and television spots €Aerosmith music video: "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" plus interviews with band members Sound: DVD: Dolby Digital discreet 5.1 track for the movie and Dolby Surround tracks for the commentaries Laserdisc: Dolby Surround on the digital tracks and mono commentaries on the analogue tracks
