Anthony, a Dolby Digital soundtrack on DVD does not have to be 5.1 channels. DD is an encoding algorithm that can encode from 5.1 channels to 1.0 (digital mono). So do not assume that just because a disc is labelled DD that it is automatically 5.1 channels. In fact much depends on the soundtrack of the original movie which may only be mono or 2 channel stereo.
