Got my XBR200 Posted by James [IP: 207.69.252.33] on November 01, 1998 at 12:26:21: In Reply to: Got my XBR200 posted by David on November 01, 1998 at 03:19:54: : : 53 inch. Love it!! Screams class : You "screem" you need to GO to class (spelling). Sorry...but thanks for being so blatantly rude. : : The Toshiba 61H95 had a poor picture quality. : I'm sure your well-supported denouncement will sway MANY from the viewpoint of the rave reviews by Home Theater magazine of the Toshiba TP61G90 (1/98 shootout), TP71G90 (6/98), and TW65G80 (1/98), see link below. Ummm that was a year ago. Who cares what they said about the past model. We are living in the now. The XBR200's FAR surpass the old Toshiba's and the new one's. Wait until the reviews come out. All one has to do is "see" any one of the new Toshiba's and the Sony next to each other. You make the call. : : Who cares about HDTV. : Uh, how many years will that be? Because maybe by 30, you may have the wisdom to regret ignoring HDTV when making your decision. Toshiba's 3 NEW top RPTVs (TP61H95, TP71H95, and TW65H80) ALL offer NATIVE support of HDTV's 480p and 1080i beyond their fantastic, line-doubled, film-like images. Once again, who cares. HDTV is not even close to being out. Look at it this way. 1. Digital TV is not EVEN in it's infancy. Who knows where it's going. 2. By the time HDTV is offered on a wide scale, there will be new technology in TV's. Think about it, what have we accomplished in the past six years? Technology jumps at a surprising rate. The so called HDTV ready 4:3 screen's of today will be absolute. As will 3. If your so concerned with DTV and HDTV compatibility than buy a $22,000 Plasma TV cause the Toshiba RPTV's just wont cut it six years down the road. Nor will the Sony's. You'll end up getting another TV anyway. Don't make sacrifices now. You get what you pay for. That's why the Sony externally blow's away all other RPTV's and internally nothing can touch it. : : $3,800 out the door with taxes! : $3800 for a 53" TV: hooray. You can have a 61" HDTV-compatible TP61H95 for James
