: : I would be careful with these at the current state of the technology. I have seen the Fujitsu and Philips and neither of them produce a picture anything like as good as a comparably priced RPTV or FP display. Sure they take up little space and have a certain cuteness factor but I would not pay $12,000 for that and a crap picture!

: Amen! Saw my first plasma the other day. The picture was awful (blocky) at any distance that gave a viewable perspective. I wouldn't pay $2500 much less $25,000. I'll wait and see thanks.

I've spent some time with the Philips. The default settings are some of the worst I've ever seen - totally blown out, and showing every block of any compressed signal, like DVD. After a normal tweek with "Video Essentials", the picture was not showing all the blocks, but it was showing a dither pattern in various areas. Almost as if the display was not able to show 256 levels of red, green or blue. The effect was almost like a very decent 256 color GIF rather than a 24-bit JPEG.

Needless to say, it is NOT on my shopping list. This is entirely a "hey look at my new toy" type of product. It is nothing anyone would do any critical viewing with.
