Pioneer 414 - audio problem

I had a 414 and had a few problems, Lip-Sync errors on Twister and Lost In Space and then skipping on a CD that played fine on my Yamaha CD-changer and a Panasonic A110. I returned the 414 and ordered a Toshiba 3108 from 800.com. No problems, both were run through a Yamaha RX-V2095. Others seem to like the 414 but I couldn't feel good about it after what happened.
