DVD or Dedicated CD Player?

Anj,

Depending on what level of playback quality you are expecting for CD playback, a DVD player will be fine. Sony DVD players do feature a dual laser system for both DVD and CD formats which is a plus. I own a Sony DVP-S300 and I must say it does not have the bass "drive" and impact as my reference player (a Sony CDP-X303ES) but that player was twice the price as the street price I paid for the Sony DVD! At worst you could add a Musical Fidelity X-ACT DAC to improve the sound - which is a killer of a unit and can be had as of this writing as "b" stock from Audio Advisor for $100.

Best regards,

Alan

: I am interested in purchasing a DVD & CD Player, however, I was wondering if it is wise to invest in a DVD Player that I can also play CD's on.

: I was considering the Sony DVP-C600D Player because it is a 5 disc player.

: I have the Yamaha 793 receiver and I have no interest in DTS.

: Thanks.
