Can I upgrade a DVD player with AC-3 to pass DTS?

Is there a way to upgrade the Sony 600 changer that has the AC-3 pass to also pass the DTS signal? Is there a chip that can be upgraded? I'm planning on getting one but I want DTS. I like SONY because I can use the S-LINK to my other sony omponents.
