Carlo,

I had a Fisher RPTV for 13 years and didn't clean it. Then I wanted to get a bigger set and was going to sell the Fisher to my son. I opened the set and cleaned all the dust out and then cleaned the mirror and lenses with a soft cloth and water. The picture looked like the set was new and more than doubled the brightness. The dimming effect is a very slow process and you won't notice it changing until it gets really dim.

How long you should go between cleanings depends on your environment. If you smoke then 6 months is reasonable, if you don't then 1-3 years would be reasonable.

Good Luck, Don

: I recently purchased a Mitsubishi VS50703 and I was advised by the salesman to have the tv set cleaned at least every 6 months. Is this true? It's going to be very expensive to do that every six months!
: Please let me know if the salesman is right. Thank you

: Carlo
