Do I need AC3 built in to DVD palyer?

I have the Denon AVR 3200 it has Dolby Digital built in. I am now looking at DVD players. Would it be smart to buy one without digital built in?

I have been looking at Sony, Pioneer, Denon.
Any suggestions?
