Progressive Scan DVD and Line Doublers

Posted by Ian [IP: 202.27.76.83] on November 29, 1998 at 21:43:05:

I know the title is a little self contradictory, however....

Although Toshiba's SD7108 has been postponed, I'm VERY keen on ProScan DVD and will wait until it happens before upgrading my player.

My question is:

All of the Front Projection systems that I have looked at (mainly Runco) have only Composite, S-Vid, and RGB/HV inputs... (ie. component video is assumed to go through a doubler or scan converter and be output in RGB with sync info) (I can't see why you wouldn't put all your sources through said processor in any case :-)

But - no Video Line Processors that I've seen have ProScan Component inputs... (why would they? :-)

Can I input ProScan to them anyway??? Would this confuse the hell out of them :-) or would I have to settle for an S-vid connection until either the Projectors or Video processors are available with Progressive Scan inputs?

Thanks in advance.
Ian.
