: Is there a way to upgrade the Sony 600 changer that has the AC-3 pass to also pass the DTS signal? Is there a chip that can be upgraded? I'm planning on getting one but I want DTS. I like SONY because I can use the S-LINK to my other sony omponents.

Tom, earlier in the year MSB were working on an upgrade for the Sony DVP-S7000. From what I have heard they have not been able to price it to make it viable compared to the cost of a new DTS compatible player. Next time I speak to my pal there I'll ask if that has changed.

Having said that, at the moment there is only 1 pretty crummy region 1 DTS DVD available, so you are not missing much. More are planned for the new year but we have been waiting for them since last March. So if you like the flexibility of the changer and the s-link, don't worry too much about DTS.
