Sony KP53XBR200 Problem! Any Ideas?

It could be a matter of the set being improperly calibrated. I've noticed
that when using Video Standard or
Video Essentials test discs, that if various video controls are varied
too far one way or another, it can
overemphasize certain bars/strips
on the available test patterns. This
can translate to faintly visible
bright/dark strips on blue-screen.

Typically, contrast/sharpness/brightness
are set too high. If its possible
to see the strip under blue-screen,
try lowering the above settings to
see if this can reduce/eliminate it.

I had a similar problem that was
eliminated by using a test disc to
get the picture ballparked.
