: It could also be an RF video connection, similar to the connections found on the back of VCRs for hooking them up to TVs. If that is the case, the audio would be mono. What type of connection is it, a RCA or a 75ohm antenna-type?

: Either way, Ken is correct. No Dolby Digital I'm afraid.

: Stuart.

From the drawing in the manual it appears to be a three pronged connector that plugs into the back of the laserdisc player. From there, it goes to an "RF Adaptor PV-RF15 (optional, it says). From there it splits and appears to have one output to a "VHF Antenna" and the other output to a "VHF Cable and Antanna Plug supplied with the RF Adaptor" which is supposed to be hooked into the "To VHF Antenna" input on the TV. The diagram in the manual states that the TV should be set "to the video playback channel '3' or '4.' It also states that with this hookup the playback audio is mono. The connector to the TV appears to be a 75 ohm antenna-type connector.

So I think you are exactly right with your analysis of this "RF DC Output" type connection.

Finally, is it fair to say that I cannot get Dolby Digital but can get DTS with this laserdisc player?

Thanks for all your help! --Otto
