: I have 1 optical output available and have a Yamaha APD-1 RF DEMODULATOR. The laser disc has a RF Out.
: My LD player is in a separate rack. Should the Demodulator go next to the receiver or the LD player?
: What kind of cables do you recommend?
: Thanks in advance.

Generally you should keep the RF connection the shortest (to avoid interference problems) so my advice would be to place the demod as close to the LD player as possible and use the shortest cable between them that you can find. All coax digital connections, be they DD, DTS, PCM or DD RF from an LD player, should be made with good quality 75ohm shielded cables. You can either use those labelled as "digital" but most shielded 75 ohm video cables will work just as well, or you could if so inclined make one yourself.
