I have a DV-606 player and am very happy with it. I took it as a replacement from my supplier when my Panasonic A310 went bottom up on me and it came pre-modified to play regions 1 and 2. The sound is "different" from the Panasonic but the picture quality is noticeably superior. However, you will be paying a premium for the built-in Dolby Digital decoder which - if you are planning on buying an AV amplifier in the near future - may prove to remain unused. I think Pioneer do a cheaper player using the same quality imaging subsystem but without the in-built decoder.
