He may be right. I'm not up on the A110, but out of my pioneer 606D I used a single optical(could use composite from "coax") for Digital to my yamaha dig in. Then I used a A/V composite from the analog output of the DVD to the Yamaha "analog" input for switched A/V out to my tv and VCR recording loop. I also use an A/V composite from the DVD for component video to my projector. However, this might be where you would send A/V to a second TV or VCR.
