: : I have heard that there are problems with the 50Hz - 60Hz mains frequency when using a monitor/TV from North America to the UK, any comments?

: It shouldn't be a problem if you get a good power converter, one which will also change the frequency of the AC waveform.

: An American TV is pretty useless in the UK however, it will not receive any off-air broadcasts either terrestrial, satellite or cable.

Hi Stuart.
Thanks for the response, I have a monitor for a PC that I wish to use while I am in the UK, I was thinking that a stepdown transformer would do the job for that one. It sounds like a small UPS maybe the go, assuming that I could get a 50-60Hz conversion from it??

The other is a 32" Toshiba TV that I would use as a monitor only. Playing NTSC into it from LD/DVD. The offair and cable I would switch into the TV from a UK VCR via a PAL to NTSC converter.

Comments, Suggestions??? - No laughing if I am off the wall with this :)

Thanks
Steve
