: Does anyone have one of these to give me some feedback on? Also, where would be the best place to purchase one (mail order or in the SF Bay Area)? Do I need someone to set this up or could I do it myself? What's the price of this? Thank you.

I don't believe Sony is shipping the VPHD50HTU yet. I thought I saw somewhere that it will ship in october.
The VPHD50HTU is same as the VPHD50Q with either new firmware or one enhanced circuit board. The Display electronics, housing, inputs, tubes and optics are identical. I have a D50Q, it produces a great picture, which you can't touch for the money. The HTU fixes some annoying things about the D50Q for home theater. You can change aspect ratios with one button. With the D50Q, you have to go through a two level menu with maybe 10 button pushes. Also, you can get perfect geometry with each aspect ratio, which on the D50Q you can only do if you change input H sync freq or physical input.
