I dumped all of my stuff except for my VCR But I now have two VCR's that play NTSC on PAL TV direct( that will go back to my brother) So I can stay in the Game with Bab 5/Voyeger and what ever I can con anybody to tape for me.I never realised how much of a problem it is to get family (who would have them?) to tape something for you
You will find plenty of dealers willing to take your had earned bengys off you the Philips TV's have NTSC compaterbity as standard (I have one, apparenty the Philips will work in the states if you have to run back in a hurry. Nigel who is sometimes here wrote a wonderful article about his having to transfer stateside and not give up your old "PALs" anybody who has move countrys would feel his pain and identify with the experence) as does the Sony in the bedroom.
There are plenty of bargins to be had here to start an adhoc system that can be transfered to the bedroom/kitchen later on Plus "Loot"
Great place here and with Digital TV starting you will be in on the ground floor if your staying.
Forget standards coverters start again and have fun looking in the mags and walking the streets( if you have time)that way you will get to know the area around you as well.

have fun moving

: Is it possible to use a NTSC receiver ( Yamaha RXV992)in the UK with a Pal TV? I was told that I would need to buy a NTSC--> PAL converter.
: My next question is that since my receiver is NTSC, would I be able to use my other NTSC equipments as well-a DVD player, a multi-system vcr and a camcorder by hooking them to my receiver and place the converter between the receiver and the PAL tv? Thanks in advance!!!!
